Students in Dr. Amanda Furtado’s 2023-2024 Chemistry for the Logic Stage class put together abstracts summarizing their science fair projects, which Dr. Furtado then pulled into this newsletter. The students came up with the ideas for their science fair projects individually and they completed them at home with their families. The broad scope of the assignment – students were tasked with selecting a scientific topic of personal interest and using the scientific method to investigate a hypothesis related to their topic – gave everyone a chance to explore their individual interests. The one requirement students had was to make sure they used the scientific method when completing their project. Of course, no newsletter is complete without a game or two – try your hand at the Periodic Table Word Search or Chemistry Cryptogram after reading about these awesome projects!
