Preparation for Rhetoric Writing

Course Description


Full-year course. One-year “crash course” preparation for high school rhetoric. Designed for high school students who have missed the prerequisites (at the suggested middle school grades) and need additional training before beginning a formal rhetoric course. Course text:

  • Excerpts from Writing With Skill, Levels 1-3
    • PDF access provided by the instructor.
    • $30 textbook fee added to the student invoice after registration.

Class meets three times per week for 50-55 minutes.

Class cap: average 12 students.

Designed for grades 9-11.

Students in grades 9-12 may be awarded 1 Language Arts credit upon completion of this course. Course may be listed as “Expository Writing” on the transcript.
