The instructor will work with us to build our Korean program. The goal is to add a level of Korean every year; the program will grow with our students. We plan to offer levels 1- 4 of Korean.
The classes are geared toward high school students.
Position Description
Our world language instructors use a combination of Comprehensible Input and explicit grammatical instruction, fitting with the goals of a classical education. Applicants should be well versed in second language acquisition theory and the ACTFL world-readiness standards for language learning. The successful candidate will be comfortable instructing and evaluating students with a goal of developing proficiency in the target language.
For the 2026-27 school year, we are looking for an instructor to teach one section of Korean 1. Our classes are scheduled during regular school hours (United States East Coast).
Job Responsibilities:
- Build a course in coordination with the administration that follows ACTFL standards and meets requirements for awarding students high school credit.
- Maintain course pacing and meet the standards outlined for the course, so that students meet the learning objectives for the units.
- Plan engaging activities that support student spoken and written language acquisition.
- Encourage interaction between students
- Provide effective live instruction, including making learning goals clear to students and using appropriate instructional techniques.
- Keep the learning environment positive. Outside material brought into the class will be conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Provide clear and actionable feedback on all assignments in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Korean, East Asian Studies, or a related field
- Demonstrable skill in teaching introductory level Korean
- Native or near-native Korean language proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching online
- 5+ years of experience teaching Korean
- Lived in Korean-speaking community for 6+ months
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the secondary level
- Experience instructing a diverse student population

Compensation
Compensation is $5,600/section for the academic year (Our academic year consists of two 17 week semesters: 16 weeks of instruction, 1 exam week). This compensation includes preparing for and teaching the live sessions, grading student work, and all related email communication.
In addition to compensation, instructors receive tuition remission for their dependents. For every course taught, instructors can enroll a dependent in a course.
Employees are eligible for retirement benefits after one year of service.

The Well-Trained Mind Academy is seeking a part-time engineering instructor to teach live, online sections of high school engineering for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Description
Our science programs use a classical approach to education. Instructors should be comfortable using socratic discussion in classes and allowing students to experiment with problem solving.
Engineering (a high-school level course) meets twice a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes (three contact hours).
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow course schedule and pacing
- Plan engaging activities that support student learning
- Encourage interaction between students
- Provide effective live instruction, including making learning goals clear to students and using appropriate instructional techniques
- Keep the learning environment positive. Outside material brought into the class is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

The classes are geared toward middle school and high school students. We offer levels Spanish 1- 4/5; we are looking for an instructor who can teach Spanish 1-3.

Classes are currently scheduled as follows; all times are in the Eastern Time Zone:
Spanish 1, sedition 1: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9-10 am
Spanish 1, section 2: Monday/Wednesday 3 - 4:15 pm
Spanish 2, section 1: Monday/Wednesday noon - 1:15 pm
Spanish 2, section 3: Monday/Wednesday/Friday noon - 1 pm
Spanish 3: Monday/Wednesday 10-11:15 am

Part-time instructors teach 1-6 sections of 12-15 students each. Core writing classes meet for two contact hours a week. Qualified and interested instructors will be considered for additional courses in their fields of expertise. Online teaching experience required. Must be comfortable working with a small focused team, taking academic direction, and cooperating with other writing instructors.

Our writing courses fall into three groups: basic writing skills, intermediate composition skills (expository writing), and rhetoric.

Prospective substitutes should have availability to teach live, online sections of expository writing during the school day (Eastern Time Zone). Prospective tutors are able to hold sessions during working business hours, evenings, and the weekends.

Expository writing substitutes and tutors are capable of teaching through the expository sequence.

Substitutes are contracted on a course-by-course basis, and for varying durations, depending on needs. All classes are offered during regular business hours in the Eastern Time Zone, and the successful applicant will have consistent part-time availability during the regular school day. Joining the substitute and/or the tutoring pool does not guarantee a minimum number of hours; our substitutes and tutors receive positions on an as-needed basis.
