The Boston Tea Party by Emeline Lavender-Toth

Emmaline Lavender-Toth wrote the essay “The Boston Tea Party: The Causes and Effects of This Momentous Event in American History” for her Preparation for Rhetoric Writing course with instructor Lori Huth. Preparation for Rhetoric Writing covers Expository Writing I, II, & III in one year.
Emmaline’s paper, in the words of Ms. Huth, “is an excellent example of how to combine several organizational strategies as a way of explaining a complex subject. Her explanation is organized well and readers can always tell what she’s focusing on at the moment. She did an great job of varying her sentences and writing in engaging, stylish prose that is easy and enjoyable to read. And I like how she describes the Boston Tea Party as a microcosm of the entire American Revolution.” We do, too!
