Congratulations to WTMA’s own Baek Haferkamp for her participation in the William & Mary Muscarelle Museum of Art Homeschool Art School, organized by Williamsburg local and WTMA instructor Alison Pariso. We are especially proud of Baek for winning the “Emerging Talent Award” at the show!
Baek, who just turned 15, has been studying a classical method of art at a local studio for the past three years. She says, “I am also a self-taught digital artist, and have been drawing digitally for 2 years. My favorite traditional medium that I’ve tried so far is gouache paint. My favorite thing to draw, however, is people, especially my original characters!!” Here are some fantastic examples of Baek’s work with gouache paints, colored pencils, and digital tools.
