In the first quarter of the year, Algebra II – Traditional Approach students worked with mathematical modeling. They completed a major assignment where they created travel plans for getaways to Mexico and Canada and developed systems of equations to compare the trips. Mrs. Quintero was delighted by her students’ work! 👇 Check out the results, and read Mrs. Quintero’s comments below. Let us know at [email protected] if this helps you make a decision about a future vacation!

Penelope Licitra: Penny’s project was so fun! She went the extra mile in her presentation with the music and animations.

Abraham Sigler: Abraham did a fantastic job explaining his data. The math in his display was precise and clear and he explained his graph and his algebraic solution.

Elizabeth Stiles: Beth is not based in the United States, so she had the added challenge of having to do monetary conversions as well as the regular assignment. Her display was excellent!

Shyla Caldwell: Shyla went above and beyond in her research and had an amazing side-by-side comparison. She asked for permission to change the project to include AirBnB options since she knows that many people (including me!) have pets.

Emily Cardinale: Emily did a great job describing the destinations, and using animations to keep her project lively. Scratch work is so important, so I also liked that she included her math work in the presentation.
