Newspaper Club for the Rhetoric Stage

One-semester club. The Newspaper Club gives high school students the opportunity to participate in the production of the WTMA online school newspaper. Students in the club will fill positions on the newspaper staff. The club will meet every other week for one hour to collaborate as a team on the publishing of the monthly newspaper. The club will explore ethics and best practices in journalism, and members will develop skills in writing and reporting, proofreading, editing, copyediting, photo editing, graphic and digital design, and production management.

Students who wish to submit content for the publication in the newspaper should send submissions to [email protected]

WTMA’s Fall and Spring Clubs meet bi-weekly. Meeting times are as listed on the registration page. Instructors will email enrolled students at the start of each semester to confirm the first club meeting date. After the first meeting, sessions will convene every other week.

I'm really happy I decided to join the WTMA newspaper club this year! It was so much fun connecting with fellow writers and working on our articles together. I really enjoyed all the positive and constructive feedback that all my classmates gave me, and I'm excited to do this again hopefully next year. - Student Club Evaluation
