Piano I

One-semester course. This  course will introduce beginning piano students to the foundational concepts of playing piano. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of music or experience with piano in order to participate in this course. Students will be introduced to basic piano technique and they will also learn the basics of music theory over the eight-week term. Piano I is an excellent way for students to explore their interest in further piano study.

Students in Piano I may choose to supplement their work in this course by registering for Music Theory A. Music Theory will help deepen their understanding of the building blocks of music that they are actively applying to the piano in this course. We cover very basic music theory concepts in piano class but music theory class goes deeper.
