We’ve been gathering at Well-Trained Mind Academy (WTMA) founder Susan Wise Bauer’s farm for 5 years to celebrate our community in person! Each year WTMA hosts a meet up of students, parents, teachers, and administrators in conjunction with the Peace Hill Fall Fiber Festival.

This year we had beautiful weather, a bright and sunny fall day with a crisp breeze in the air. Our school administrator Jenne Phillips did an amazing job setting up, with the help of her lovely husband Michael.

Mr. Bauer brought his dog Oz to visit, which was a treat for everyone, and especially for his writing students who have heard about Oz in class.

We have to give a special shout out here to Penelope Licitra and mom Elizabeth. They have been coming to our meet up since we started! Penelope is a senior this year. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!  🫶🫶🫶

This is a time for all of us to gather as a learning community, and for families to spend quality time with one another.

The meet up isn’t just for our students. Parents get to meet and mingle, too.

We hope you get to come and spend time with us at one of our community events in the future. There is no denying the power in human connection, and to get to meet the people we interact with online regularly in person is a special treat. Our spirits are always lifted after we spend time together!
