Grammar: Intermediate

Course Description

Single-semester course. English grammar course for students who have an understanding of parts of speech and their functions but have not studied more advanced sentence structure. We will cover phrases, clauses, complex sentence structure, sentence transformations, and advanced diagramming. By the end of the course, students will be brought up to high-school level competency in grammar skills.

We recommend that students start the WTMA grammar sequence at either the Foundational or Basic level. The homework assignments in this course utilize sentence diagramming. If a student has little experience with diagramming subjects, verbs, and direct objects, he or she should begin in the Basic Grammar course.

Intermediate Grammar is designed to be repeated. Students who repeat this course will review the same definitions and examples, but will be given an entirely new set of exercises and assignments upon which to build their grammar skills.
